A Not So Wordless Monday

Can I just say that I am dying to get back in the kitchen?!  Let me explain... About 6 weeks ago I was working out and tore my left pectoral muscle.  How you ask??  ...or maybe you wouldn't ask because this is a recipe blog, but I just can't keep it to myself any more.  I need to share because being out commission for the last several weeks (or 6) has made me appreciate my arm.  Well, not just my arm, but the ability to use both of them.  Back to what I did... I was set on getting a killer upper body workout and decided it would be a good day to try not one, but two new moves.  A boy push up and fly's on a stability ball.  If you're not sure what a fly is, click here.  It's pretty much the hardest type of chest exercise out there and I was doing it without a trainer and without asking an experienced person's advice (like my husband's).  Long story short, I should have asked my husband if this was a good idea because he's reminded me many, many times that he would not have advised this.  So tomorrow marks one week of physical therapy and I am ridiculously happy to announce that I am getting better!  It only took be a month to get into the sports med doc, but the outlook is good.  Finally.  I know that for sure because I asked my magic 8 ball.  Seriously!  Try it out here.  All kidding aside, I hope that I'll be back in action in the next few weeks, so please bare with me and thank you for your patience!! Hope you all had a happy Easter.  I leave you with a picture of my cat doing what she does because she makes me smile.

So sorry to hear about your injury. That stinks to get hurt while you're working out; doesn't quite seem fair!

@ Kayln: I agree! The worst part is taking it easy.... you'd think I'd be loving all my free time to sit around and be lazy, but it's making me nuts. ...so used to going 4,763,284,623 mph doing 10 things at once. Just happy I'm finally headed in the right direction. Dying to cook though!! I guess it's good to slow down sometimes. ;)

@ Julie: you know, now that you mention it... Yes, I have learned a lot. It's actually been kind of cool to do all this reflecting. ...but I hope I'm back in action soon !!

It is always great to workout and get the extra health benefits we all need but as you have found out, pace yourself and be careful especially with weights and new exercises. We have missed your recipes and wish a speedy recovery.
